Call screener software can be a very expensive product for a small to
medium radio station. At $1000.00 or more it is beyond the reach of many
Local Radio Talk Shows. The full featured call screener software is well
suited to the Network Talk Show but overkill for the local market in most cases.
I have used simple IM programs like AIM to send messages back and forth between
the host and the screener. Something like this works well for simple
operations. The ineffieciency of it really bugs me. Why send a
message off to travel 1000 miles round trip jsut to wind up in the next room?
My simple call screener software works like IM but it has some special features
built in to make call screening easier. A direct connection over the
network makes it effiecient. Low cost makes it practical.
